Alan Freisleben has over 30 years of experience handling all aspects of dispute resolution including trials, appeals, mediations and arbitrations. He has particular expertise in insurance law, errors and omissions litigation, the defense of holding companies from claims of institutional bad faith, alter ego and joint enterprise liability as well as breach of fiduciary duties.

Daina Petronis has more than 25 years of professional services marketing experience and oversees Arcina’s marketing, business development and operations functions. A results-producing B2B marketing executive, she enjoys building things - teams, departments, programs and processes - to help companies grow. Daina launched Arcina’s brand identity in 2009. Prior to returning to the firm in 2016, she was a marketing director with the global law firm Sidley Austin LLP overseeing four California offices.

Brad Weise, a licensed attorney in both California and Washington, co-founded Arcina in 2009 and brings particular expertise with subrogation and complex claims recovery. He has delivered in upwards of a 99% subrogation recovery for insurers and carriers. His work with Arcina’s insurance archaeology practice has helped recover millions of dollars for clients.

Rejo Mathew has more than ten years of experience having worked at the carrier, broker and client level. Rejo manages mass tort and complex general liability claims notification on behalf of Fortune 1000 clients and insurance carriers. Rejo has drafted insurance requirements, created safety programs as well as advised on the insurance provisions of contracts.

Jeff has designed construction insurance requirements for owners and general contractors, and consulted and trained clients on compliance issues.

Jeff Moerschel CPCU

Jeff Moerschel is a seasoned veteran of the insurance industry having held senior level positions with carriers and third party administrators (TPAs). He has an extensive background in workers compensation and casualty claim auditing, including product liability, TPA selection, asbestos coverage analysis and management, retrospective claims adjustment, administrative claim department analysis, pre-underwriting auditing and open claim analysis. Jeff has conducted insurance archaeology along with legacy acquisition reconstruction to aid in locating historic policies. He assists many of Arcina’s Midwest clients with insurance archaeology and complex claims management.


David Koller  J.D.

A licensed attorney in California and Iowa, Dave Koller has more than 30 years of experience handling highly complex, multi-party asbestos insurance and environmental coverage matters. Dave joined Arcina in 2020 to assist with the growing demand of the firm’s insurance archaeology practice. He interfaces with carrier representatives, advocates on behalf of clients on defense fee and indemnity coverage, and strives to formulate practical solutions to complicated challenges. His expertise includes policy review and analysis along with insurance claims recovery.

Nick VanHole

Nick VanHole, who joined Arcina in 2019, is a historical researcher and archivist with particular expertise locating insurance policies. He employs creative approaches to locating new research areas and repositories for potential evidence of insurance. A relationship builder, Nick has been challenged to pursue what others have found to be “dead ends” with several of projects.

Pietro Calautti is a skilled researcher and project leader. He has worked on historic insurance reconstruction engagements for Fortune 1000 companies, education institutions, non-profits and public entities. Pietro has conducted research to evaluate client liability coverage, assessed metrics pertaining to coverage amounts, fiscal limits and exclusions. His work has resulted in recognizing over $10 million in savings for clients relating to historic insurance coverage for informing civil cases and litigation proceedings.

Nick Early specializes in complex claims management and advocacy for Fortune 1000 companies. He has particular expertise handling asbestos claims within the automotive industry and has developed a keen understanding on how to manage the client, insurer and defense counsel relationship to achieve optimum results. Nick builds web-enabled database repositories including insurance policy libraries and case specific documents to deliver real-time claims management, analytics, client claim trends and claim statistics. He also has experience with erosion analysis of insurance policies and allocation modeling for long-tail claims.

Christmas Myers manages day-to-day claims administration for clients by reviewing complaints, preparing claim notifications to insurance carriers, and tracking correspondence. She interfaces regularly with clients, their defense counsel and insurers to resolve legacy claims. Utilizing claims data analytics, Christmas prepares quarterly reports for carriers on behalf of clients. In addition, Christmas conducts onsite insurance archaeology to research historic insurance policies in response to sexual misconduct claims for school districts and non-profit organizations.

Beth Mazurek is a tenured litigation claims specialist with nearly 30 years of experience in the handling of litigated claims. With a vast background in litigation, she joined Arcina in 2022 to assist Fortune 1000 clients with their complex claims. Beth is responsible for reviewing and noticing the complaints, monitoring correspondence, interfacing with clients, insurers, and defense attorneys. She also processes defense costs, provides policy interpretation and assists with insurance archeology projects.

Enrica "Ritchie" Lee

Ritchie Lee has more than 30 years of experience in claims administration. She is instrumental in preparing claims notifications for asbestos and other toxic tort claims to insurance carriers on behalf of clients and tracking responses. Ritchie has prepared and monitored loss run reports as well as workers' compensation incidents reports. Prior to joining Arcina, Ritchie worked with the risk management team at Reliance Steel & Aluminum Company and previously spent 24 years with Marsh.
